In honor of Teen Dating Violence Awareness month, My Sisters’ Place presents: SAFER (Students Advocating For Equal Relationships) Westchester, a Youth-led 4-day leadership institute for middle school students. SAFER connects high school and college aged students from across Westchester County with middle school participants to provide appropriate support, help build confidence to lead, and improve sense of community.
The SAFER Institute will provide students a space to:
- Explore the intersection of healthy relationships and social problems/issues
- Understand the impacts of Teen Dating Violence, Domestic Violence, and Tech Abuse on youth
- Develop skills for coping after harm occurs for accountability, healing, growth, and repair
- How to be an effective bystander and supportive peer through conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques
The group will meet at the MSP Yonkers office each day from 10AM-3PM. We will be hosting 2 informational meetings on Zoom for parents and community members to ask us questions and to learn more about the program.
