Domestic Violence High Risk Coordinator
JOB HIGHLIGHTS: As part of a dynamic, diverse team of passionate advocates and clinicians committed to transforming the world, you will be providing advocacy and accompaniment services to High Risk Domestic Violence referrals that MSP receives through the Westchester County Domestic Violence High Risk Team (DVHRT) partnership and White Plains Police Department, in addition to being responsible for data management and participating in community collaborations.

LOCATION: his opportunity is located in Westchester County, New York. This role will be performed in a combination of locations, working out of the White Plains, Yonkers, and Mount Vernon offices as needed, in addition to some remote-based work opportunities.
The working hours for this role will vary between morning and evening shifts. Ex: 7am-3pm, 9am-5pm, 11am-7pm, 1pm-9pm. Some weekend hours may be required as necessary. Services are delivered in a variety of settings to meet the needs of the client whether that is remote (phone and/or TeleHealth) or in-person.
JOB OVERVIEW: As the Domestic Violence High Risk Coordinator – you will work to further MSP’s mission in accordance with our guiding principles by filling a key supportive role in the Adult Services department, within the Family Services Unit. The Domestic Violence High Risk Coordinator will be responsible for providing critical supportive services in a way that is compassionate and adheres to culturally appropriate best practices and agency expectations. You will be trained in Anti-Racist principles, to provide trauma-informed, client-centered advocacy, crisis intervention, safety planning, and referrals.
Services will be mobile and delivered in a variety of settings to reduce barriers to participation and accessibility. The Domestic Violence High Risk Coordinator will also be responsible for fostering and creating relationships with law enforcement partners, attending monthly and quarterly DVHRT meetings, participating in Police Department Roll Calls as needed, and overseeing, auditing, and enhancing MSPs internal records management stsyem used to track referrals received from the DVHR Program.
You will maintain strong connections to all other MSP program areas, including our Shelter, DSS/DV Collaboarative, and Center for Legal Services. You will build and maintain cross-referral partnerships and improve the overall response to high risk domestic violence case referrals in Westchester County received by MSP.
YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR...
- Weekly oversight of the LAP Contact Log & LAP Referral Email account to ensure no referrals are being missed accidentally
- Entering weekly follow-up notes into a shared Records Management System (Apricot)
- Providing crisis intervention, safety planning, and advocacy to those individuals impacted by intimate partner violence
- Accompanying clients within the Westchester County area at places like, police departments, Courts, doctors and housing appointments, Social Security Offices etc.
- Participating in Police Department Roll Calls as needed with partnering locations
- Represent the agency at community meetings, coalitions& community presentations to establish and strengthen partnerships
- Compile and publish monthly, quarterly and yearly statistical reports for the DVHRT
- Collaborating with other programs and departments within MSP
- Providing support & coverage to the 24-hour hotline/ Web Chat/ Text Line
- Providing clients with information and referrals to outside services for themselves and their child(ren)
- Maintain program statistics in compliance with funding requirements and objectives
- Participate in all staff meetings, trainings and/or professional development sessions as directed.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
YOU MUST HAVE…
- Bachelor’s degree and/or minimum of two years of experience working with victims of domestic violence and/or providing advocacy and support to victims of trauma
- Bilingual English/Spanish Required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, assess priorities, take initiative, handle multiple assignments, and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of gender based violence, domestic violence, human trafficking, or trauma a plus
- Technology proficiencies including using Microsoft Suite, and other web-based platforms
- Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- A passionate commitment to principles of anti-oppression
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively and on a team
- Valid driver’s license and reliable, insured transportation

TEAM OVERVIEW: MSP’s Adult Services Team consists of a Director, a Coordinator of the Non-Residential Case Management Program, a Senior Domestic Violence Advocate, an Adult/Teen Advocate, three Domestic Violence Advocates, an Intake Coordinator and a RISE Domestic Violence Advocate. All residential and non-residential services staff works with MSP’s Emergency Shelter, a confidential site in Westchester County, NY.
