My Sisters’ Place (MSP), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Westchester County, New York, has grown from a grassroots task force and drop-in center, formalized in 1978, to a cutting-edge leader and resource in the fields of domestic violence and human trafficking. MSP strives to end domestic violence and human trafficking through comprehensive services, advocacy, and community education and works to create a world in which every individual has the basic human right to be free from gender-based violence and to engage in relationships that embrace the principles of respect, equality, and safety.

The Coordinator of Volunteer Initiatives (CVI) will oversee MSP’s volunteer client accompaniment program and individual, corporate, and community group volunteer engagement activities. In addition, the Coordinator will enhance and manage MSP’s student internship program. The CVI provides an important link between MSP programs and the community at large.

Sister-in-Law (SIL) Accompaniment Program
Develop and expand MSP’s specially trained corps of volunteers who provide MSP clients with supportive accompaniment to appointments at family and immigration court, as well as in interactions with government agencies, interviews or in other contexts where clients may need encouragement. The CVI will:

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of experience working in a nonprofit or other setting with community groups. In addition, candidate must:
