More than 400 community members gathered at the Ritz-Carlton on April 27, 2017 for My Sisters’ Place’s 40th Anniversary Benefit. The evening focused on honoring the 40 years of service that MSP has offered the community and the many individuals who have supported the agency. The event was a success on so many levels and we are proud to announce that we exceeded our financial goal! These funds are vital to our ability to continue to serve the thousands of victims of domestic violence and human trafficking throughout the county.

The event featured cocktails, dinner, a fund-the-future appeal, and a silent auction. We were delighted to include a friend of MSP, Tony Porter, as our guest speaker. Tony is the CEO of A CALL TO MEN and is a leading voice on the intersection of masculinity and violence against women. His 2010 TED Talk has been named by GQ Magazine as one of the “Top 10 TED Talks Every Man Should See” and has been viewed over 2 million times. His remarks focused on the need for EVERYONE to join the work to end violence against women and urged men to take a stand on this issue.

Voices of Change Honorees

This year MSP awarded the Voices of Change award to Rebecca and Marty Eisenberg for their years of service and leadership. For the past 20 years, Rebecca and Marty have brought their world to our world, introducing countless individuals to the mission of our agency. In 2005, Rebecca officially joined the MSP Board of Directors, of which she has been a proud member ever since.

Celebrating 40 Years

In honor of the 40 year anniversary, community members, volunteers, MSP staff, survivors, and friends of the agency submitted tribute videos sharing their response to this milestone. Check out the full tribute video below!

Thank you!

We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who joined us in person or supported the event from afar. It takes all of our combined effort to bring change to our community. All of the volunteer work, financial contributions, and in-kind donations will allow us to continue to help so many in need. In particular we would like to thank our event co-chairs, Susan Mara McDonnell and John McDonnell, Mindy and Greg White, and Sara and Kieran Mahoney. We would also like to thank all of our committee members, sponsors, auction donors, volunteers, Cristina Cuduco, and Diana Gould Ltd.
