Courage and Determination

A letter from the CEO of My Sisters’ Place, Karen Cheeks-Lomax

“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”

Martin Luther King, Jr.

Dear Friends and Supporters,

My Sisters’ Place believes that safety and respect, and freedom from violence is a fundamental human right. We are determined and steadfast in our commitment to further our mission and will continue to shine a light on the most vulnerable in need.

We must remember that thousands of children in our community will be exposed to violence in their homes. Our grandsons, granddaughters, nieces, nephews, sons and daughters are our future. We must safeguard this next generation.

Now, more than ever we need to come together to support children and families in crisis. Together we can ensure that our life-saving programs are accessible and available. With your help we can keep conversations about intimate partner violence plentiful and continue to make positive change.

We are thankful for your partnership, for the work we do together that challenges the social norms that promote violence. We couldn’t do this work without you.

With gratitude,

Karen Cheeks-Lomax, Chief Executive Officer
